Principal's Message
I want to share with you all the exciting things that have been happening at EV!
Teachers in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade spent two days with a professional developer from Columbia University in New York. She came to EV as a result of a grant we received to help us be better reading and writing teachers. It was an amazing two days full of learning and ideas on how to meet our students needs.
Opera a la Carte took place on November 6th. Thank you to Dave Kohnhorst and the San Francisco Opera for presenting such a lovely version of Cinderella. Our kinder through 2nd grade students attended this year.
Starting Friday, November 17, EV will offer produce and groceries from Redwood Food Bank for any EV family. We will start at 8am in the Family Resource Center room 31.
Halloween revisited! The staff will be revisting the Halloween costume idea for next year. We have heard from some parents starting they would like to see costumes at school on Halloween. Halloween this year was celebrated with a small gift from the PTO for all students and Halloween music at lunch.
Valley Vibes Orchestra is up and running once again!!! We started with the older students this week and will soon be adding the younger students very soon. Our new program director Klara Crean along with music director Andre Emer are enthusiastic and excited about the program and getting back to music!
El Verano Family Resource Center is offering a Parent Cafe in English and Spanish starting on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8:30am. The Parent Cafe is about the five protective factors that support parenting.
Thank you all and have a great three-day weekend!!
with gratitude, Maite Iturri
