Vision: Academic Excellence and Success
From Mr. Rs Desk
The following are some expectations that every teacher should be doing. Again, these expectations are NOT “above and beyond” but rather common practice [or PROFICIENT in T-TESS terms].
- Every teacher should be submitting lesson plans on a weekly basis.
- Every teacher should be submitting grades in accordance to policy.
- Every teacher should be submitting student attendance; every period.
- Every teacher should be attending regularly scheduled meetings.
- Every teacher should be handling classroom discipline issues.
- Every teacher should be monitoring academics for their own students; including special pops.
- Every teacher should be creating safe, learning environments.
- Every teacher should be contacting parents regarding: academics, attendance, and/or discipline issues.
- Every teacher should be seeking ways to improve their craft.
- Every teacher should be connecting lessons with real life scenarios.
- Every teacher should be creating opportunities for student collaboration.
- Every teacher should be creating 21st century opportunities...Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication.
- Every teacher should be implementing [age appropriate] college skills.
- Every teacher should be pursuing and meeting the 90-60-30 state standard.
- Every teacher should be tailoring their lessons to students’ needs and learning abilities.
- Every teacher should be contributing positively to the campus culture.
Trust that we appreciate all your efforts and we know that our success depends on you, the teacher. Bottom-line, you are the lifeline of RHHS and for that very same reason, there is a real urgency that exists. That being said...
- We need to be present every day.
- We need to be consistent with our actions [in-and-out of the classroom].
- We cannot afford sub-par performances.
- We cannot use this profession as a “pay-check” or a stepping-stone for something else.
