The Science of Reading - Part 1

As you read this article, think about these things:

  • Do you instruct on all five components daily? Whole group or small group or both?

  • What does explicit instruction in each component look like in your classroom?

  • How does Wonders assist you in teaching phonics/decoding explicitly and systematically? Is it a priority in your classroom?

  • What other support do you need for in this area?

Midlothian's Got Talent!

From Beth Brand:

Staff,

It is time for the 10th Annual Midlothian's Got Talent. I know that the ones who entered last year had lots of fun and won prizes (giftcards, not trophies). We love the support that you have given us in the past. We would love to grow our staff catagory in MGT. There is no fee for entry this year whether for Performance, Art, Photography, or Video. We are hoping to make this a big production for our 10th year. I have been involved in the school district long enough to have seen many performances from many of the staff (mostly in videos). I know you are not shy! ;)

Please fill out the form below for registration. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you

Beth Brand

If we get enough registrations, we will give out an award for "Most Talented School" to the school with the most participation!
