Free Teacher Training

Illinois Ag in the Classroom is providing some great summer "virtual" field trips and training in June and July . One hour on Tuesdays each week will be training sessions with ideas for your classroom next year. One hour on Thursdays each week will take you all over the state for virtual field trips. Available Teacher Grants

White-Reinhardt Resource Grant

Eligibility: All educators may apply.

Application Guidelines:

  • Applications are due June 30, 2020.

Purpose: To provide funds for educators to purchase ag literacy resources from the Ag Foundation store.

The purpose of these grants is to provide funds to educators to enable them to purchase accurate agricultural literacy materials from the AFBFA store for use in their classrooms. By providing this grant, AFBFA hopes to help students gain access to more accurate information about agriculture.

"MORE" for Agriculture Grant Application Available For 7th-12th Grade Teachers

Compeer Financial, working with Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom programs, is offering a classroom set of The Hungry Planet books by Peter Menzel to 50 classrooms in each participating state. Companion education lessons and resources will accompany the books.

Upcoming CHS Foundation Classroom Grant

CHS Foundation provides $500 grants each year to K-12 teachers who have classroom projects that use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. Eligible projects include classroom and schoolyard gardens, embryology projects, aquaculture projects and agricultural literacy reading programs to name a few. The CHS Classroom Grant application becomes available on this page in mid-July and the deadline for applications is Sept. 15. Teachers have until June 30 the following year to complete the project and submit a final report. Only state-certified classroom teachers employed by a school district or private school teachers are eligible to apply.
