Good evening Farb Families! Here is the last Sunday Update for the 2021-2022 school year.

This Tuesday, June 14 is the last day of the school year. Tuesday is a minimum day and students will be released at 2:30. I would like to thank all of our families for your support this school year. It definitely has been a rollercoaster ride, and I appreciate all of your patience and support. We are all hoping next year we will return to some normalcy and we will be able to welcome families back to campus on a regular basis.

To our families who will be leaving us, whether that is moving to high school or leaving San Diego, we wish you the best of luck and we are glad you were part of the Farb Family.

8th Grade Promotion

We are excited to celebrate our 8th graders at this year’s 8th grade promotion, this Tuesday June 14 at 9:30 am. Promotion will be on Farb’s large grassy field. Gates will open up at 8:30 am. We are also excited that our parking lot has reopened for this special occasion. Families can park in Farb’s parking lot, on the street, Newbreak Church parking lot, or the rec center on Santo (the back gate will be open). The ceremony will be approximately 1 hour. We will have a small reception following the ceremony in the lunch court with cake and punch. 8th grade families are welcome to take their student home after promotion, but please be sure to check them out at the table by the flagpole. 8th Grade Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to all of our 8th grade students who received an award last Wednesday at our annual 8th grade awards ceremony. We are so proud of all your hard work and accomplishments. Remember to wear your medals to promotion.

6th and 7th grade Field Day

Thank you to all of the families who donated balloons and water for the end of the year field day for the 6th and 7th graders. It was a great success and I believe all of our students had a great time.

Zero Period PE

There will be NO Zero Period PE on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Textbook Return

If your student did not return their textbooks last week, please be sure they return them by Tuesday. All students will keep their laptops, unless they are moving out of San Diego this summer. If you are moving, please be sure to return your laptop by June 14 to the counseling office.

Yearbooks

We still have a few yearbooks left. You can order one online at www.jostens.com or you can purchase one at school for $25; cash only.

2022-2023 School Year

The 2022-2023 school year will begin on August 29, 2022 at 9:00 am. Also, please save the date for our annual Back to School BBQ on August 25 at 5:00 pm. We will be sending out more information this summer.

TDAP for next year’s 7th graders

Reminder all students going into 7th grade will need to show proof of having their TDAP vaccination before starting school in the fall 2022. Parents can drop off proof at school or email it to immunizations@sandi.net

Message from our Counselors

Welcome to a new school year parents and guardians! As School Counselors, we want to make sure that you know we are here to support your child. The Counseling Corner will help us give you updates so that you can stay informed and have some resources to help support your child this year. We are still getting things set up for the year, so check back in the coming weeks for more information.

In the next couple weeks we will be setting up a Counseling google classroom for this year. Students can use our google classroom to reach out to us and we will be posting other resources there throughout the year. There will also be a google form on our google classroom that students can fill out to request to talk to a School Counselor.

We hope everyone has a great first week! We are all learning and growing together during this season of life as it has its many ups and downs, but we will be here to support students and families along the way.
