Pine Street Press
September 2023
Principal's Corner
It has been an amazing first two weeks of our school year. The first week of school we were able to spend time learning about Pine Street and started building our Pine Street Community. We started the first day with our annual flag raising ceremony and opening day assembly. Students then had the opportunity throughout the week to do team building activities with their class, switch class, and grade level. This culminated in a whole school picture on Monday afternoon.
Staff and students are now getting into the swing of things this second week. Teachers have started diving into their lessons and students were able to take their NWEA fall reading assessment. Teachers use information from this assessment as well as our Running Records reading assessment to start planning for our WIN (What I Need) intervention groups. Next week we will be taking the NWEA math assessment and that data will be used for our Math WIN groups.
After a busy first two weeks, I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and we look forward to seeing our students back here on Tuesday.

Robyn Robinson
