Tustumena Elementary Newsletter

August 25, 2017

The first week is under our belt.

I would like to thank all of our parents, teachers and students for a perfect first week. I walked through the halls at 9:10am on the first day and it was as if school had never stopped. Teachers were teaching, kids were learning, and parents were "out of here and smiling." It truly was a great start. Thank you also to all of you who attended our Open House. It was a great beginning.

I would also like to thank Mike and Patty Murray for a huge donation of school supplies for our kids. It is very much appreciated.

One of our first and best attended events every year is our Fall Carnival. It is hosted by our PTO, which means, you! Our PTO needs everyone's help this year. If you are a family that always wants to help but cannot always come to meetings or volunteer long term, this event is for you! Please contact our office 260-1345, and we will pass your information along to our PTO officers. A couple of nights of setting up or a night playing games with the kids, and you will make a big difference for our event. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for sending your children to Tustumena.

The B&GC Bakery Stand is back on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Stop by to say hello! You can support the kids by purchasing a treat or by donating flour, sugar or eggs.

Our Supper Program is also back! Thank you to all the parents who completed and submitted their free/reduced school lunch paperwork last fall. Because of this, the B&GC qualifies to serve a full supper to each B&GC member every day at no charge to families. Food for kids and grocery savings for parents...A win-win. Register your kids for B&GC!
