Celeste's Bucket List
#1 - Horseback Riding in the Ocean - Chukka Cove, Jamacia
I want to go horseback riding in the ocean. I think it is fun to go horseback riding, but it would be so cool to go while in the water! I would go with my cousin, Ella, because she is a big fan of horses. Since you have to go over water to get to Jamacia, I would go on a cruise ship to get there. I have always wanted to go on a cruise, so it would be new and exciting. The weathering that occurs is physical weathering. Running water breaks down sand in the ocean, and the ocean carries it to a different place.
CHUKKA - Horseback Ride N Swim
#2 - Zip-lining- Nosara, Costa Rica
I also think it would be SO fun to go zip-lining, especially on the longest zip-line in the world!! I would go with my 2 sisters, Hannah and Noelle, because its fun when we all hang out together. I would fly there on a plane, because, believe it or not, I have never flown on a plane before... Physical weathering occurs on the ground. Rain breaks down dirt and soil and running water moves it from place to place.
#3 - Fly in a Hot-Air Balloon - Loire Valley, France
I have always wanted to fly in a hot-air balloon, and what better place is there to do it than the beautiful France? I would definitely go with Angelle because she would LOVE to go to France. The weathering is physical. Wind breaks rocks away slowly, and then wind carries the excess sand from the rocks to other places in the country.
#4 - Go to the Statue of Liberty - LIberty Island, New York
I want to go to the Statue of Liberty. It is located in New York on Liberty Island. It would be so cool to look out and see most of New York!! I would go with my mom because she loves travelling and seeing cool, new things. I think we would travel by car, so my mom could spend time with me. Also to save money... Chemical weathering happens right on Lady Liberty! The copper it was made from turned green from the way the copper plates reacted to water and air. Over time, the weathering of the copper created a thin layer of copper carbonate called a patina. Although some people were worried that the changing color of the statue meant it was decaying, the patina actually protects the copper underneath from further corrosion.
#5 - Camp out in a Cave By the Ocean - Algarve, Portugal
I love the beach and camping, so camping on the beach would be awesome. Especially in Portugal, it is so beautiful. I would 2 of my friends, Angelle and Abby. They also love camping! We would definitely go by plane, and even try to get Abby's dad to fly us on a private jet! Physical weathering occurs on the wall of the cave. A mixture of water and air constantly blow on it and slowly break it down. Then, the tiny pieces of sediment get carried away by the water.
