Juneteenth Celebration

SAVE THE DATE! JUNETEENTH IN CHAPEL HILL & CARRBORO Planning is underway for the inaugural Chapel Hill-Carrboro Juneteenth Celebration! The virtual event will kick off on Friday, June 18th and will culminate with an in-person Motorcade on Saturday, June 19th. The celebration is being planned by several community partners, including the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, the CHCCS Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Marian Cheek Jackson Center, and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP. Celebrate Black freedom, pride, community, and culture with musical performances, kid activities, history exhibits, and more. Stay tuned for the full line up revealed in early May and begin thinking about how you’ll decorate your vehicle to take part in the Juneteenth Motorcade!
