Message From Dr. Otway
Gratitude for Our Amazing Parent Community!
Dear College Park Family,
As we close out the Thanksgiving holiday, we are filled with immense gratitude for each and every one of you. Your unwavering support and active engagement make our school community truly special, and we want you to know that we appreciate you every day!
This week has been particularly exciting, with our Thanksgiving dinner, Friday Night Skate Night and our Cheer competition Thursday Night turning out to be a fantastic success. Not only did we have a blast, but we also brought home wins of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in every category! It's moments like these that make our school community shine, and we're thrilled to share these victories with you.
Your presence at parent meetings has been invaluable. Coming together to celebrate our shared narrative – that we are a school family on the ride to excellence together – strengthens our sense of community. Your insights and commitment to being an active part of your child's education are truly commendable.
Looking ahead, next month will be pivotal as we reflect on how far we've come and plan for the remainder of the school year. Your input and involvement are crucial as we continue to build on our successes and navigate the challenges that may arise. Together, we form a resilient community dedicated to the growth and development of our children.
In the classrooms, your children are flourishing. Your commitment to ensuring they are in school, on time, and focused on their reading improvement is making a significant impact. We firmly believe that it takes a village, and we are grateful to have such a supportive and dedicated village of parents.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them. Your actions speak volumes, and we see the positive difference you are making in our school community.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our family. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful close to the month of November!
Warm regards,
Dr. Maisha N. Otway

Your Opinion Matters
Your opinion matters! Tell us about your experiences with the district and your school by filling out the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Georgia Parent Survey required by the Georgia Department of Education. This survey provides a foundation for your school’s Climate Star rating score and is part of the CCRPI. These climate scores are an important indicator of culture and climate within each school in the district. Each school will receive a 1-5 star rating, with five stars representing an excellent school climate, and one star representing a school climate most in need of improvement. The surveys are anonymous and confidential and will remain open through Friday, December 15. To access the CCRPI survey, click here.
