Up With Joy!

Come Sing! Kabbalat Shabbat Service

B'NAI OR MONTREAL @ The Y: JOYOUS, MUSICAL, DEEP, PASSIONATELY RENEWAL, AND DECIDEDLY UN-ORTHODOX!

B'nai Or Montreal Shabbat services are deeply sweet and warm, informal and musical, welcoming and egalitarian, user-friendly and very accessible. You'll love our siddur! No Hebrew reading ability required. All are welcome - please tell your family and friends about us!

After the service: Join us for a potluck Oneg Shabbat ("Shabbat delight") following the service. Please bring, as you are able, a nutritious refreshment or beverage to share. This could be something dessert-y, fruit, crackers and hummus, or fruit juice.

B'nai Or Montreal's Shabbat services take place on the first and third Fridays of the month.

First and Third Fridays at the Snowdon YM-YWHA / JCC

Time: 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:45 for volunteers and set-up)

Place: Kellert Hall, Snowdon YM-YWHA, 5400 Westbury Avenue (entrance faces the end of St. Kevin St.)

Donation: Please consider giving $10-$18. We do not charge membership fees and therefore are supported through your donations. However, no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay. You may pay by cash or by cheque; make cheques out to the YM-YWHA, and clearly mark "Bnai Or Montreal" on the information line. Any cheque donation of $18 and over will receive a tax receipt from the Y.
