Letters to Rose Presentation
Mrs. Rose Sherman Williams, a Holocaust survivor, spoke at LEE High School on the evening of January 8, 2020. She shared her story of determination and resilience with the LEE community. All in attendance had an opportunity to speak to Rose personally after the presentation and to take photos with her. An unforgettable evening that was made possible by Rose's generosity and the efforts of Robin Philbrick, a retired Johnson High School English teacher, who co-authored Rose's memoir titled Letters to Rose.

This allows teachers and librarians to easily connect to the standards across all subject areas as well as literacy connections to elements like author's purpose. Librarians might want to check out the Ready-to-Use activities>Interactive spaces>shelf talkers for ready to print out QR codes with links to videos from authors like Jason Reynolds, Angie Thomas, Dan Santat and Yuyi Morales. The Special Collections area includes links to over 400 Reader's Theater scripts for all ages. Sharing this resource with your teachers might be one of their favorite gifts all season!
