Book Fair Information
Dear Parents and Families:
We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our staff, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school. After missing out on many beloved traditions, our fall Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will
take place from October 4-October 8 at the school library during your child’s LEAP period
We do regret that at this time there will be NO family events and we strongly encourage you to allow your child, if they are making a purchase, to be prepared to do so during their LEAP period or through the online option.
• Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too!
• Please feel free to shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

We’re excited to celebrate our love of books together at the Book Fair. We look forward to seeing your child there!
Progress Reports-10/15/21
Progress Reports will be available after 2 p.m. in Genesis on October 15th. To view your child’s progress report, simply log in to Genesis (https://parents.genesisedu.com/florence) and click on the “Grading” tab at the top of the window.
If you are having trouble logging in or need your email and password reset, please contact the main office (ihernandez@florence.k12.nj.us) or the IT Department (mgupta@florence.k12.nj.us)
Birthday Treats
A decision has been made to change the birthday treat procedure. Students are allowed to bring in a birthday treat that can be enjoyed in class. Birthday treats should be prepackaged, and can not be homemade. Parents should reach out to teachers to schedule a date for the treat to be brought in and to be sure there are no food allergies in the classroom.

EARLY DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Early dismissals for individual students are sometimes necessary for a doctor, dental or daytime appointment. The process used by our office is as follows:
On the morning of the early dismissal, the student should provide a note for the teacher to be shared with the main office.
Parents/guardians must come into the Main Office in person to sign out and accompany their children. Identification and masks will be required for early dismissal. We strongly encourage that if you need to pick up your child(ren) before our regular dismissal time that you do so no later than 2:15 p.m. This allows for a much smoother dismissal and ensures all staff are getting our students safely back to you.
Please be advised, students can only be released to adults whose names appear on the Genesis Contact List. Any adult who is picking up a student MUST present a valid photo ID. Please be sure to update Genesis contacts through the Parent Portal.
