Robert F. Kennedy Assasinated
By Thomas Pereira
What, When, Where, and Why
Robert Kennedy was assassinated June 6, 1968 in Los Angeles, California. He was killed by Sirhan Sirhan after a public speaking. Before SIrhan Sirhan was sent to jail he said that he killed Kennedy because he had supported Israel in the Arab-Israeli war of 1967.
Controversy
There are 3 main stories of what happened. Either Sirhan Sirhan killed Kennedy, the CIA killed Kennedy, or there was more than one shooter.
The New York Times
They explain what happened and that the president is now dead.
The Nashville Tennessean
They talk about how he was critically injured but don't yet know if he is dead.
Biases
When reading the news stories I noticed that they had left out all of the reports of people hearing either more then 8 gunshots or seeing the lady running away yelling that they killed Kennedy. They only showed certain interviews that made Sirhan Sirhan the lone shooter.
Another bias I found was that they not only made it look like he was alone, but they stated that he was the one that shot Kennedy.

Historical Criticism
You can use historical criticism to best analyze all of the stories. You have to understand how everyone was feeling at that time and what was also going on around the USA at the time. At that time many people loved RFK, and wanted another Kennedy in office.
