Renovation Updates

As of June 13th, a lot has happened around Siegrist. It is hard to believe that it is the beginning of the summer.

The following things have occurred in a short amount of time:

  • New HVAC system to become more efficient and successful in ensuring consistent humidity and temperatures in the building.
  • Flooring throughout the hallways has been torn up and awaiting new floor materials which will require less maintenance and is consistent with the other flooring applications throughout the district.
  • All hallways are getting a fresh new color palette, and are well on their way to bringing a warmer and more updated feel to the building.
  • 5 new classroom spaces have be prepped for sheet rock and ready for final finishes to outfit new learning spaces.
  • New paint in the library to coordinate with hallways.
  • Two new mural spaces in the building : One will be to track student progress in the building, and one that will highlight the importance of student leadership in our building.

Still to come this summer:

  • Flooring will be finished in all hallways
  • Paint in the Multipurpose room (lunchroom)
  • Painting pillars in the front of the building
  • Mural completion
  • Door jams are all getting painted
  • Completion of library extension and the 4 small classrooms.

Proof of Residency

Proof of Residency

Students must live within the boundaries of the Platte County R-3 School District and provide verification annually.

Proof of residency process and requirements can be found here. Returning families can provide proof of residency either electronically or in person. New families must provide proof in person during the new student enrollment time outlined below.

****If you are receiving this communication and you believe that you are going to Compass or another school, it is likely because the system hasn't updated or you haven't proven residency (which updates your attendance school). Sorry for the inconvenience.

NEW STUDENT Enrollment Details

If you child attended Platte County last year, you have completed the enrollment information at the conclusion of last school year. Only new students to the district need to enroll during the following times....


The following times are for new families to the community who have students who were not enrolled in Platte County last school year.

Hours for enrollment are:

8/3 8:00am-3:00pm

8/4 12:00pm-7:00pm

8/5 8:00am-3:00pm

If you wish to save time, enrollment paperwork can be printed off from the district website and brought to school during the enrollment hours.

This is a group of parents who are interested in assisting our teachers in setting up classrooms. We have a lot of moving to do and classrooms need to be set up for the first time for many of our teachers. If we could get a crew of parents who could be available to help with all of the little things that teachers need we would be eternally grateful. If you have already RSVPd to this event earlier, we have your name and email on file, and will contact you in late July/early August with a schedule.

The office is closed through the summer, however administrators can be reached through June 21, by contacting the office at 816-858-5977 and dialing extension 1401 or 1404. Administration conducts many of their meetings in the summer to avoid interruption during the school year, so we may be delayed in getting back to you. Administration is out for summer break beginning June 21 and we will return July 14. The delays in returning your email may be longer during that time depending on our personal access to email.
