Parent Newsletter: January 3rd

A Note From the Principal

Dear East Middle School Students, Parents, and Guardians:

We are so glad to be back at it with students! It has been lovely to see all of their smiling faces! We hope you were able to relax and rejuvenate over the break.

  • Grade cards will be posted on TeacherEase on Friday, January 5th. Paper copies of both the grade cards AND winter NWEA reports will be sent home, with your student, during advisory time on Tuesday, January 9th.
  • Lost and Found? All of our items from the Lost and Found will be donated to local charities on January 5th. If you or your child believe that they have items there, please look before January 5th. There has been an announcement running for the last week.
  • There is still time to order a yearbook through January 20th! Yearbooks are only $34. Cash or check can be brought to the office to Jaime Campbell or paid online through the district website. Her email is jaime.campbell@raypec.org or phone is 816.388.4006.

More detailed info is listed below on many of these events, so please check them out in the body of the newsletter. We are ready to start this second part of the year off with a bang! Happy 2018!

Sincerely,

Katie Campbell

PAWS Starts Up on January 24th

Our new semester of Practicing Academics With Support starts up on January 24th. This time is from 3:00-4:30PM.

This is not a one-on-one tutoring support. If you are interested in having your student attend, please contact your team of teachers to coordinate it. Because of transportation needs, the deadline for this communication is noon on Tuesdays (the day prior to PAWs on Wednesdays). The list starts fresh every week, so it is important to communicate with the teachers frequently - if they haven't already reached out to you.

Our goal is for this to be a productive but fun time for the students who are attending to complete tasks and practice academics.
