Today is the last day we will work on exponents before moving on to scientific notation. Students will practice exponent operations with an exponent rules scavenger hunt and an exponent operation coloring sheet. At the end of class, students can complete a quiz 1 retake to replace their quiz 1 grade.

Announcements: Unit 2, Homework 3 is due on Friday. Students were given this sheet last Thursday (October 8). Students will have the opportunity to retake unit 2, quiz 1 on Monday. Students will take Unit 2, quiz 2 on Friday.

Here is this week's homework:

Science- Today students will be completing a study island lesson over weather and climate as well as plate tectonics. Weather and Climate is a 7th grade topic while we are currently discussing plate tectonics. Remember, students need to answer 20 questions per topic and can use the internet to look up information to get the answers correct.

Social Studies- Today we are analyzing the battles of the Revolutionary War and discussing each strategy in each battle.

English Language Arts -Today students are completing graphic organizers in order to pre-write for their narrative essays. Students are writing about a moment in time that has greatly affected their life and/or a lesson can be learned from. You may want to ask them what they chose as their moment and why.

Students may complete i-Ready lessons at home at any time for Math and ELA (see instructions at the bottom of this newsletter). These lessons ARE for a grade. For ELA, students MUST click on "Extra Lessons" (only those lessons will be graded).
