Confetti Sweets Fundraiser in Support of Halla
We would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to everyone that supported the Confetti Sweets Fundraiser. Our FRH students created this fundraiser to support Halla Ahlefeld, as she and her family deal with the very challenging realities of LaBrune Syndrome. Halla is a beloved member of our school, and our students were excited to help her out in a small way.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone that participated, we were able to raise $756.50 through both the pre-orders and the fresh baked cookie sale on June 17. We are truly grateful for your support!! Proceeds from the Fundraiser will go towards the purchase a specialized wheelchair for Halla.
More information about Halla and LaBrune Syndrome can be found in this Global News video: https://globalnews.ca/video/8814128/losing-time-alberta-girl-with-terminal-illness-contracts-covid-19/
REMINDER: 2021-22 School Fees
School fees for the 2021-22 school year are posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. Throughout the year, fees are often added to cover the costs for various activities, such as field trips, extracurricular activities, and late, damaged or lost textbooks.
To access your fee information, simply log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view fees and pay them online using a credit card. Make sure to monitor your child’s account on an ongoing basis.
For more information about school fees, waivers and payment deadlines, visit eips.ca/schools/fees. And, if you have questions, think there is an error or need help creating a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, contact your child’s school directly before the summer break.
NOTE: Pursuant to Board Policy 23: School Fees and Administrative Procedure 505: School and Administrative Fees, EIPS will forward any unpaid 2021-22 fee amounts to a collection agency. To prevent this from happening, remember to pay your fees before Aug. 31, 2022.
ACCESSING USER ACCOUNTS: STUDENTS LEAVING EIPS
Is your child graduating from or leaving EIPS at the end of the school year? If so, they must ensure any information they want to retain from their school cloud accounts is downloaded onto a personal device before leaving.
- Google account – Students must download any wanted content before August 1—download files either individually or in bulk using Google Takeout.
- Microsoft account – Students must download any wanted content from their OneDrive account before August 1.
After Aug. 1, 2022, EIPS will deactivate the account and delete all remaining files.

First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learning corner
As our country moves toward reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, we thought we’d bring you a simple, easy way to move your own understanding forward if you’re curious about how you can be a part of the learning which leads to reconciliation. #Next150 was first introduced a couple of years ago, and we felt it was a good time to re-introduce it to the FR Haythorne community. Each link will take you to a short activity you can do to move your learning forward. This week, the challenge is to listen to the stories of Residential school survivors. There were thousands of children, some as young as 5, who were forcibly taken from their homes & put into these schools, some hundreds of miles from home. We can learn so much from listening to those who survived. Our path to Reconciliation is more difficult without first learning the truths about what happened in the past. #Next150 Challenge "Survivor Stories"
