Blue Jay Bulletin for Parents
October 19, 2020 - Issue 13
Dear Blue Jay Families,
The first quarter of the 2020-21 school year is nearly in the books and we are thankful to have been in-person for those days! A special thank you to parents, students, and staff on your support with the measures we have in place.
A couple of items to note as we finish out this month...
- Every five years school districts across the state update and revise their Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). This happens to be our year and includes surveys for parents, students, and staff to complete. The information we receive helps drive our school plan for the next five years. We kindly ask for a few minutes to complete the parent survey by November 4, 2020.

- Parent-Teacher Conferences are next week on Wednesday, October 28 from 3:30-7pm and Thursday, October 29 from 12:30-3:30pm. A friendly reminder on a few changes for this round of conferences...
- Any/all parents or guardians may attend
- Any parent or guardian attending needs to wear a mask
- No students or siblings will be allowed in the building. Please find alternate care for your children while their conferences are occurring. The only exception would be for student-led conferences.
- If this will not work for your family, please contact your child's teacher to schedule a virtual or phone conference.
SPECIAL NOTE: At Parent-Teacher Conferences you will be receiving a manilla envelope. Inside the envelope will be two days worth of work for your child (labeled Day 1 and Day 2). The packet would only be used if there were an abrupt school closure. This would provide both school and home two days to transition to virtual school if the need arises (i.e. distribute chromebooks to students, post online content, etc.). A district-wide textcaster message would go out to all families if we were to use the packets. So, if you have a space at home please tuck this gem in there for safe keeping. Our hope (I'm sure yours too) is that it will not be needed this year and will only collect dust throughout the school year.
Stay Positive,
Mr. Waigand
