A Letter From 3rd Grade
Dear Third Grade Families,
Good afternoon! We hope you have had a fantastic week!
Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up! We will be hosting them on Wednesday, March 6th and Thursday, March 7th. Please see the sign-up link below to sign up for a time to meet with me to discuss your child's progress. https://ptcfast.com/schools/DCES24
On these days, the students will also be having early release from school at 12:45. If you need to make transportation arrangements on these two days, please send in a handwritten note with your child. I am looking forward to meeting with you! Let me know if you have any questions.

Our Specials for 3/4-3/8
We will have the same specials for a four day rotation. See your child's specials schedule below:
Tuesday-Thursday: Music
Friday: PE
Learning Updates!
Next week we are learning...
Language Arts: Students will be present their new chapter they've written for Peter Pan, and they will explain why they added the events into their paper.
Math: Students will wrap up their fractions unit. They will focus on showing equivalent fractions with a variety of models. The test will be Tuesday, March 12.
Social Studies: Students will wrap up their habitats unit. They will review the key things they have learned about the five habitats.
🗓️ Upcoming Classroom Events
County Created District Assessments
As we are nearing the end of the 3rd quarter, students will take a county-created district assessment over the content they have learned during this 9 weeks. They will have 1 district assessment per academic area. Students who are absent when the assessment is taken will make it up when they return to school.

2. HOMEWORK
- Optional: reading and math daily assignments
- Read 20 minutes each night. Studying and homework assignments can count towards the 20 minute goal.
- Review addition and subtraction facts within 20. The more comfortable students are with these facts, the better they will do with larger math facts!
