October is National Walk to School Month

Way to go Winchester! National Walk and Ride your bike to school day was this past Wednesday and it was a great success. We had 102 Winchester students participate. October is actually national walk to school month so keep this up if you can. What a great way to stay healthy!

PTA Meeting - Wednesday, October 11th @ 7:00 PM

EVERYONE IS INVITED - members and non-members, teachers and staff!

PTA meetings are approximately once a month, either AM or PM, to accommodate the parent community. With consistent representation from the school board, superintendent’s office and our Winchester principal at every meeting, this is truly the best way to find out what is happening in and around your school community. We look to our parents for support with volunteering but also for new ideas and suggestions regarding where we spend funds, programs we offer, and how to make Winchester great.

Immediately following the meeting: Presentation by the District Math Consultant/Coach, Carrie Zielinski, to all parents discussing changes in the mathematics classroom instruction at Winchester Elementary

Get Ready for Jump Rope Club!

All 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are invited to participate in the Winchester Elementary Jump Rope Club. Please see the attached letter for more details.

The Fall Social Is Coming – Volunteers Needed

The Fall Social is Friday, Nov. 3 and I need help to make this event a success. Right now, I need 3 parent volunteers to manage the:

Cake Walk - Make numbers, send reminders and requests for cakes, set up for event that night. Students will work the walk the night of Fall social.

Basket Raffle - Communicate with teachers for volunteers, communicate with classrooms on themes, collect baskets and take them to get wrapped (we have someone to do this), organize list and value for each basket, and set up the night of event. I will be helping with this too!

Food - We have a list of what we need. We need someone to pick it up, work with Pizza place and set up the night of event. High School NHS students will serve food the night of event.

More parent volunteers will be need for 1-hour time slots the night of the event to sell tickets. Request will come later for that! Thank you! Holly Jones
