Good afternoon Barbieri Families,

This week is a short week for our Hawks. Due to holidays, professional development and conferences it's a shorter school week. Please review the calendar below thoroughly to ensure that you and your family have made arrangements.

Monday- Full School Day

Tuesday- NO SCHOOL (Voting Day/Professional Development Day)

Wednesday- Full School Day

Thursday- Early Release Day (Parent Conferences, Last Day)

Friday- NO SCHOOL (Veteran's Day)

The Framingham Fire Department visited with grade 3 students to discuss safety ways to escape from fire and all students practiced the stop drop and roll and stay low and go while also being able to see the Fire Trucks in person at the front of the school. THANK YOU to the Framingham Fire Department!

We are noticing an increase in the amount of toys, cards, dolls, and other personal items coming to school. They are not allowed in school. We are not responsible for these items. It is best to keep them at home safely for all children to be able to come to them when they arrive home. We appreciate your support with this! Children at this age become very upset when these items are lost. Please keep them safely stored at home.

Parents/Guardians Conferences on NOVEMBER 10th will be held in person. Teachers can extend a phone call/ google meets video call option to parent/guardians if this is more convenient. Teachers should already be in contact with families regarding scheduling. Please reach out directly to your child's teacher for more information.

Thursday, November 10th (last day for fall conferences)

• These days will be EARLY RELEASE days at school. Students will be dismissed at 12:55PM. Lunch WILL be served.

There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Tuesday, November 8th. All staff will be participating in full Professional Development sessions all day. Tuesday is also a Voting Day

ALL STUDENTS will be dismissed to parent pick, school buses, or Explorers at 12:55PM on Thursday, November 10th. This is an EARLY RELEASE day and all teachers will be hosting parent/guardian conferences. Please reach out directly to your child's teacher for more information.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, Nov. 11th in honor of Veteran's Day!

Barbieri School will facilitate school-wide Health Screenings in December. These screenings are hosted by the Office of Health and Wellness. Health Screenings at Barbieri will be on December 19th, 20th, and 21st from 9:00AM-3:00PM.

Screening Notification

Please reach out to the main office staff, Joelie Rivera, Assistant Office Manager, or Diane Cartier, Office Manager, to ensure that we have the correct dismissal information for your child(ren). We dismiss students to after school explorers, buses, parent pick up and SMOC/Suburban buses daily. Staff ensure that the dismissal information you have provided us is the one we adhere to.

Two Community Engagement Opportunities

The Framingham Public Schools Office of Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement (OEDCE) has two incredible opportunities for community participation around Diversity and Equity Initiatives. Please see below for more information and complete the form that interests you!

District Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement (OEDCE) Committee

• Seeking FPS team members, students, parents/caregivers, and community partners

• Collaborates with the OEDCE on ways to progress the work of equity and celebrate diversity in the community.

• If interested, please complete the District Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement Application Form.

Student Coalition for Equity

• Seeking dynamic FPS students (variety of grades / ages) who are interested in advancing the work of equity and diversity within the Framingham Public Schools.

• The coalition will advise, plan, organize, and support initiatives that promote equity and diversity.

• Empowers students and encourages the development of their leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

• Please nominate a student by completing the FPS Student Coalition for Equity - Nomination Form. (you will need their FPS provided email address)

Lifetouch will be back on Friday, November 18 for retake day. Teachers/staff will ONLY send students who were absent on picture day or who have explicit instructions from home to have their picture retaken. There are extra order forms in the office but ordering online is the easiest option:
