Thanks to all the kids who submitted ideas for the class t-shirts. We will get back soon with the winner of the design and appreciate everyone’s pre-payments. Again, venmo/hornungpto with the child’s name, teacher and grade is required with the suggested $12 shirt cost.
If you are feeling generous this holiday season, please consider the following areas to help our school:
Our new school dog, Suzie, has a wish list to make her integration into Hornung go more smoothly. If you’d like to help: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/ITSS68PU71JE?ref_=wl_share&fbclid=IwAR2DYgNPCRYHCg_7qxug0ZkR6f_4yIqgw-TZ2ObUiqBIN7pz6_1c6pysp-o
Help us to treat our Hornung staff with some holiday cheer! We are looking for holiday goodie donations such as cookies, candies, fudge, popcorn balls, brownies, cupcakes, gluten-free treats, etc. Items can be homemade or store-bought. Please drop off all donations to the main office on Monday, December 19th so staff has a chance to "shop" on the 20th. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040e4fa5aa22a46-holiday1
Brighton Ford’s Toys-for-Tots event. Please drop-off a new, unwrapped present at Brighton Ford to help Hornung potentially win $3,000 in a giving contest with our peer elementary schools.
December 4th: Dining out fundraiser with Buffalo Wild Wings. Stop by the Village Place BWs in Brighton near US-23 (NOT Latson Rd) anytime on the 4th. Present the attached ticket (printed or digitally) for Hornung to get 20% return of your bill.
December 8th: Brighton Ford’s Toys-for-Tots event.
December 18th: Hornung Elementary Rollerama Fundraiser from 5p-7p. If you haven’t been or didn't know, Rollerama is a skate rink & game center on Grand River. They host several “Hornung Nights” and provide a final return to the school. The cost is $9/person which covers admission and roller skate rental.

Counselor Corner!
I am so excited to continue working with students this year to help facilitate and promote growth and learning! I am providing classroom lessons, small group activities, and individual support this school year.
As a reminder, your school counselor is here to support children in all areas of mental wellness that impacts their success in the classroom. We work with individuals as needs arise. If your child is struggling at school, we will work together with the classroom teacher to determine whether or not school-based services would be beneficial. We may also be able to offer resources or contacts if your family believes that outside support will best meet your child's or families needs.
The Elementary Counselor Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have, and I will do my best to support your child.
