A Message from Mrs. Fantaskey
Ready, Set, Here We Go!
Our summer has been filled with preparation for this school year. We continue to adjust to the COVID-19 restrictions that have been set, which has made school planning quite difficult as things seem to change quickly, sometimes daily! We have faced these challenges with hard work, problem solving, and determination, as we planned for the upcoming year. Our plans include new and unique scheduling and class placement needs, detailed building health and safety protocols, extensive training on new technologies for virtual learning, collaborative and collegial professional development, detailed cleaning protocols, and general planning for various possibilities as the school year progresses.
We know that this will not be perfect, and we appreciate your ongoing support and patience as we manage through new technologies, and any glitches that we may experience, especially in our opening days. I saw a post recently with the 3 most important school supplies this year for all of us, adults and children...Patience, Flexibility, and Grace! We will make mistakes, some things may not go as planned, but know that each and every one of us is going above and beyond for our students! We know that are families are doing the same at home. Every student. Every Day. Whatever It Takes! We've Got This!
We have missed our Soaring Eagles so much since last spring and look forward to "seeing" our students soon. In preparation for the new school year, please note the following dates:
- Wednesday, September 2nd: Student class placements go "live" on the Parent Portal at 2:00 PM.
- Thursday, September 3rd: Students and families will receive a welcome letter and message via email from their new teacher.
- Tuesday, September 8th: First Day of School for Students
Once again, thank you for the continued support, trust, patience, and understanding you've shown all of us. Our Doyle family is truly a wonderful community, and our staff has felt your appreciation and support. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide your children with the best educational experience for the 2020-2021 school year.
Kind regards,
Kate Fantaskey
Thank You, DHSA!

Device Distribution ~ Last Pick Up 9/2/2020
Thank you to all families who came to pick up their child's device and materials on Tuesday. Our process ran smoothly, as we deployed over 400 devices. If you were not able to make it on Tuesday, you can come today, Wednesday, September 2nd, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Please below for details prior to pick up.
All students in a grade level will receive a device equipped with: internet filtering, software, tech support for break/fix, and access to instructional tools and resources used by our
teachers. You can learn more on our FAQ page: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/38121
The first step prior to distribution is to enroll online and pay a usage fee. The usage fee covers insurance for breaks, as well as a bag and a charger. Elementary students will pay $10. Each payment will be good for three years. Should payment of the fee be a hardship, please email Mrs. Kowalchick for financial support.
Steps:
- Parent/Guardian and Student will click on and read the 1:1 Handbook.
- Parent/Guardian signs the user agreement and pays* the user fee via MyPaymentsPlus (MPP). Upon submitting the fee and MPP agreement you are confirming that you have reviewed the information with your child.
- If you need your child's student ID to register him/her in MyPaymentsPlus, please check your parent portal or email bernst@cbsd.org.
The Fee Table:
*Please note that the fee is reduced for families who are economically disadvantaged. You will see the balance as $0 when entering MPP. All families still need to complete steps 1-3 even if the balance is $0.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
The online portal for Free & Reduced program applications for the 2020-21 school year is now available on the district website at https://www.cbsd.org/Page/342. We encourage families to apply for this program for your family needs.
Applications for Free and Reduced lunches need to be renewed each school year.
