From the District Science Coach (Kim Anderson)
Good Morning,
As you know, I am the new Science Instructional Specialist for our district. In an effort to visit each each school very soon, I have put together a schedule (see below) that will help me manage my time. Please note that the times are somewhat approximate—if something takes longer at one location, I could be a few minutes late. When I am at your school, I would like to know if you have specific concerns about science instruction at your school, and I would like to observe some science teaching. I know that the timing of this is difficult to pinpoint at the elementary level, but if someone will be teaching a science lesson at the time I am there I would like to observe or assist if you let me know ahead of time! If there is no science at the time I am there, I may visit a few classrooms and introduce myself to the teachers. Thank you in advance for your time. I look forward to working with each of you to put our students first.
Kim will be here on February 24 at 8:15. If you will be teaching science at this time please let me or Crystal know.

The Jason Flatt Act
Safe Schools is our online safety training program. We are requiring 3 courses this year: Jason Flatt Act, OSHA Globally Harmonized System (old MSDS), and Slips, Trips, and Falls. Your username to the system is your employee ID number and your password is first initial last name. If you have any problems please let me know. All faculty and staff will be sent the 3 courses on February 7. The email sent to you will have your employee ID in it. In order to renew your certificate of teaching you must now have completed the 2 hour Jason Flatt Act Course on suicide.
Don't Forget...
Please don't forget to load your high, medium, and low writing samples for 2nd 9 weeks. These should be samples from the same students you submitted 1st 9 weeks. We are looking at student growth. Click here for the Dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gzbbd16ahpj0vg5/BYLQg5m2sX
