The Green Revolution has improved the quality of living in many countries by providing more efficient growing practices, more jobs, and increased yields in crops.
Rice
75% of Rice grown in Asia are new strains made by discoveries made during the Green Revolution.
Wheat
Yields of Wheat Crops increased dramatically after the Green Revolution.
Corn
Mostly planted in America; new, better strains were introduced during the Green Revolution.
Miracles Happen
"Miracle Seeds", including hybrid plants, have been pioneered in the Green Revolution and have higher yields and more resilience than other normal plants.
Fertilizers have also increased crop yields by providing plants with the nutrition needed during its growing process.
Antibiotics have reduced the loss of crops due to insects and disease. Previously wasted money is no longer lost.
Millions and Millions of Tons
In the 1960s India imported around 10 million tons of wheat annually. After the Green Revolution, in 1971, India started exporting several million tons as a result of the increased productivity.
