The highlights this week are:
1. Comprehensive Needs Survey needs. Please complete this link HERE and share your input by the extended deadline of tomorrow, February 28, 2023.
2. Every Tuesday this school year will be early dismissal Tuesday at 1:34 pm. Please plan for early pick-up for your child if they are not in the after-school program.
3. Parent Conference Week: Teachers will be reaching out to make appointments with families ta arrange conferences before or after school Monday through Friday of next week. (NOTE: No conferences right after school on Tuesday due to Teacher PD/Staff Meeting.)
4. Parent Conference Early Dismissal next week will be the minimum day dismissal at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 8th, Thursday, March 9th, and Friday, March 10th. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up on time.
5. Student Success Ceremony will be in two weeks on Monday, March 13, 2023. Teachers will be entering names by this Friday. Please check next week to see if your child is being honored at the next assembly.
6. Make-Up Earthquake Drill Monday, February 27, 2023. There will not be an alarm rung. However, please prepare your child(ren) to hear a message that simulates the rumbling sound of an earthquake on the intercom. This will be a stay-in-place drill.
7. School Site Council meeting will be this Thursday, March 2nd at 4:30 pm.
8. Did your child participate in the Arts project/mural with his/her class? Did your child's annual school field trip happen yet (It will.)? Did your child receive Condor Store incentives from the Student Store? The prizes, paint, art supplies, and field trip buses are purchased with funds the school raises. Please support your child's school by signing up for the Rock, Roll & Run fundraiser. The fundraiser is this Saturday, March 4th for the Rock & Roll Run at LMU.
Attached is the flyer that went out in the WHES blue folder and we would appreciate it if you could sign up for this fun family event. Our goal is a minimum of 5 signups per class.
This is a 5k run/walk for adults and 1k run/walk for kids, or there is an option to donate without running. There is early bird pricing until Feb 10th - $25 for the 5k, $20 for the 1k or $10 virtual run if you cannot make it in person.

9. Second Grade OLSAT-9 GATE testing will be administered to all 2nd-grade students next week on Wednesday, March 8th, and Thursday, March 9th. Please see our GATE Coordinator, Shannon Harman, if you have any questions.
10. Positive Behavior Intervention and Support/ Restorative Practices (PBIS/RP) Parent Rep is needed to support the stakeholder team that reviews behavior support for students at the school. If you are a parent that is interested, please call the school or Mrs. Blanca Espinoza to join this important team!
11. Read Across America Day is March 2, 2022. There will be activities for the school to have fun and enjoy reading! Check with your child's teacher how you can volunteer to read to the class or other possibilities!

We know that change is always a challenge, but communication with the school and attending the parent meeting last week helps to make future weeks more smooth. Your participation at school meetings matter! | Thank you, Staff! Thank you staff for supporting the opening week back last week.
