COVID-19 Pandemic: Helping Young Children and Parents Transition Back to School

We have completed almost four full weeks of school. It has been wonderful hearing laughter and watching relationships bloom.

Of course, there are still some challenges.

Give yourself 15 minutes to read this piece from the CDC. There are also a bunch of helpful resources linked!

Big picture

Pick Up / Drop Off

During pick up and drop, we would like to avoid having groups of folks congregating together, especially if they are unmasked.

Remember that there is no supervision before 8:05a.m., so it is imperative that you bring your child to school between 8:05-8:15.

Thanks for cooperating!

Feeling Symptoms? Stay Home!

We have had many students coming to campus complaining that they are sick, or were sick the day before. They've also shared that they had taken medicine in the morning.

Please remember to keep your child at home and call the attendance line at (408) 264-8837, if they are feeling sick. Someone from the front office will give you a call to let you know of next steps. We all have to do our part to keep everyone on campus safe. Thank you!

WORKING TOGETHER TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE

We are requesting a few things if you are dropping off or picking up students.

  • Use the drop off loop through the parking lot.

  • Please do not get out of your car in the drop off zone. Have your child sitting on the passenger side with his/her school materials ready so that she/he can quickly exit the car and we can keep the drop off zone moving.

  • Everyone should cross in a crosswalk, including parents. Please help us set a good example for our students.

  • Please do not stop in the middle of the street, pull into neighbors’ driveways, or make illegal U-turns as this causes both traffic and safety problems.

Let’s work together to make the streets around our school safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
