We encourage all families to visit the NW Outdoor School Science Website. Check out answers to Frequently Asked Questions, preview important forms that you will be filling out (we will send you these forms in a packet...don't print them out), and learn how to send your children mail while they at camp!
ODS registration packets (yellow envelope) will be sent home with students within the next two weeks.
A question we have already received:
If we (the family) have plans for a vacation for spring break, and we need to leave school a day or two early, are we able to pick up our student earlier from ODS?
Answer:
Yes. However, the person picking up the student has to be listed in Synergy as a guardian or emergency contact and bring ID.

District Wide Summa Consolidation
The Beaverton School District has determined that the five existing Summa programs should be consolidated into three programs beginning in the fall of the 2018-19 school year and completed in the fall of the 2019-20 school year. The need for consolidating programs is due to the decline in the number of students being eligible. Current enrollments do not allow for each program to receive the number of students necessary to build and maintain effective and efficient program models, nor do they provide students with an appropriate middle school experience. By the 2019-20 school year, the BSD will be operating Summa programs at Stoller, Meadow Park, and Whitford Middle Schools.
In the north end of the district, Stoller Middle School will not see any changes. Stoller Middle School will continue to serve 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from the Stoller attendance area.
In the middle of the district, the incoming 6th grade and 7th grade Summa students assigned to attend Cedar Park Middle School will be assigned to Meadow Park Middle School beginning in the fall of 2018-19. The current 7th grade Summa students attending the Cedar Park program will be grandfathered in and will attend an 8th grade only Summa program, remaining at Cedar Park for the 2018-19 school year. For the fall of 2019-20, all Summa students previously assigned Meadow Park and Cedar Park attendance areas will attend the Meadow Park program.
In the south end of the district, the incoming 6th grade and 7th grade Summa students, assigned to attend Highland Park Middle School will be assigned to Whitford Middle School beginning in the fall of 2018-19. The current 7th grade Summa students attending the Highland Park program will be grandfathered in and will attend an 8th grade only Summa program, remaining at Highland Park for the 2018-19 school year. For the fall of 2019-20, all Summa students previously assigned to Highland Park and Whitford will attend the Whitford program.
The consolidated programs will maintain the standard middle school starting and ending times, from 9:15am to 3:50pm, and transportation will be provided.
8th Grade Parents - Sunset IB Parent Meeting
Parents, guardians and students interested in learning about the International Baccalaureate program at Sunset High School are invited to attend an informational session on Wednesday, February 14th from 6-7pm in the Stoller Library. Sunset Principal John Huelskamp and Sunset's IB Coordinator will share information about the IB program opportunity and considerations for high school course planning. The IB program is an internationally recognized, rigorous, college-preparatory program that offers the possibility of college credit, and is open to all Sunset students.
