Meet GRASP Alumna Jamiee Freeman!
What is the best thing GRASP has done for you? GRASP assisted with financial aid questions, as well as provided me with helpful tips, tricks, and advice during my college career.
What are you doing now? I did my student teaching experience in Chesterfield County Public Schools. I graduated from VCU in May, 2018 with my B.I.S. (Magna Cum Laude) and my M.T., and I'm currently teaching 3rd grade in Richmond City at the elementary school I attended as a child.
What one piece of "educational advice" would you give to high school students? Prioritize yourself. Doing well academically is important, but you can't do well if you aren't caring for your mental and physical self.
What is the biggest life challenge you faced relative to your educational path? I was in two separate car accidents during my time at VCU. The aftermath of both accidents took a toll on me financially, physically, and academically. It took a lot of drive and determination to push through it.
