Please Welcome... Nurse Menka!

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Menka San Pietro to our staff! She will be fulfilling our School Nurse Vacancy.


Menka has always had a passion for children and has previous nursing experience as she was an RN in Labor and Delivery. Her first day will be Monday, December 6th. She is very excited to join the Winston Family!

REMINDER: PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER!

Cold Weather is nearing. Please send students to school dressed for the weather. Students must have on winter boots and snow pants to play in the snow at recess time. With the chilly temperatures, please remember to send your child to school with the appropriate winter clothing (Hats, Gloves, Scarves, Winter Coat, Snow Pants, Snow Boots). Please contact the office if you need assistance providing the appropriate winter clothing for your child.

As the weather begins to become colder, we are writing to share District 15’s 2021-22 inclement weather plan with you. After much discussion, in the event we have significant inclement weather creating unsafe travel conditions or due to extreme cold, we will be utilizing an emergency weather day(s) which we have already built into the school calendar instead of shifting to virtual learning. Please visit the Emergency School Closure/Inclement Weather page of our website.

Should we need to call an emergency/inclement weather day due to hazardous weather conditions, we will notify families through email, text message, and phone calls via our Blackboard Communication system. The information will also be posted on our District and school websites, Facebook, Twitter, as well as the CCSD15 mobile app.

Please be aware that if District 15 is closed for in-person learning due to inclement weather, unfortunately, we will not be offering meal deliveries.


Communication and Notification
In order to ensure you receive timely notification of school closures and other school and District communication, we ask that you please ensure we have the most up-to-date contact information in Infinite Campus (email address, phone number, and cell phone number for text messages). To review the contact information we have within our system, please take a moment to log into Infinite Campus to check for accuracy. If you need assistance logging into your Infinite Campus, please reach out to your school.

The one-five Foundation is once again offering an annual mini-grant program for staff members of Community Consolidated School District 15 to support a wide range of opportunities for students across the district.


This year, 13 grant applications have been preliminarily approved by the Foundation for funding. While the one-five Foundation Teacher Mini-Grant Committee is in support of these projects, additional funds are needed to make them a reality.


You can help! Please consider making a donation to the one-five Foundation Teacher Mini-Grant Fund to help our teachers help our children.
