ZMiddle
ZMiddles's band is one of the best bands around. We all do our very best, and we always have room for fun! Our directors, Mr. Murray and Werich, never fool around (except for when they do which is, probably, 99.999999999 percent of the time). Go Eagles!
Rouge Trombone
BEWARE! As unidentified Rouge Trombone terrorizes ZMS, we hope that soon the anotamous trombonist is put to justice. By far he has annoyed to death several Flutes, emptied spit valves on Altos, and violently knocked out Tenors with slides. We try to gather more data.
Flutes Have Force?
After the performance of "StarWars" as the Flute section song, all flutists can use telekinesis, and they all carry around a small, metal cylinder that they claim, "the most powerful weapon in the universe". Also, they continuously repeat, "With great power, comes great responsibility".
Band v Choir
In the past, it was always a question on everybody's mind; Which is better? Band or Choir? But, it is now official. The first Musical War has been announced! Orchestra's participation in the battle is uncertain. Go Band!

Mr. Murray
I am starting my 6th year of teaching band at Zionsville Middle School. The ZMS Band Program has a rich tradition of excelling at the local, state, and national levels of performance. Our wonderful students are incredibly hardworking and dedicated, and they have played performances at festivals ranging from Ball State to Disney World. I graduated from Butler University with a degree in Music Education and with a Concentration in Jazz. I have been incredibly fortunate to perform with several rock, jazz, and classical musicians and bands throughout Indiana. I am currently serving on the executive boards of the Indiana Jazz Educators Association and the Indy Jazz Foundation. I am most proud of being the undisputed winner of the coveted "Child at Heart" prize, awarded by each year's 8th grade class--I have won this amazing, honored title three years running.

Mr. Weirich
I am currently in my 15th year of teaching band at Zionsville Middle School and am very proud of our tradition of excellence in our band program. Our bands have performed at many national competitions, festivals and conferences and have earned themselves a great reputation thanks to our awesome students. I am a graduate of Ball State University and Butler University and performing music has brought me a lot of joy throughout my entire life, I have been fortunate enough to have opportunities to perform with great musicians throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and even across Europe. In 2001 I was very honored to be nominated for a Grammy Award. Currently, I am a member and featured soloist with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. I also perform with several other rock and jazz groups all over the mid-west. As a teacher was honored to be recognized as Zionsville Middle School’s “Teacher of the Year” in 2010, named a “Most Valuable Educator” in 2013 and 2014, and named “Most Influential Teacher” in 2013. My highest honor though was being named "funniest teacher" by last year's 8th grade! I have two boys, a first grader and preschooler at Stonegate Elementary, and a 1 year old little girl so if I look sleepy in the mornings you know why!
