Classroom News!
- This week we continued our discussions about Bears. Last week the children watched the short movie Corduroy adapted from the beloved children’s book Corduroy. We focused on real life bears, and read several non-fiction books that contained many interesting facts about bears and their habitats. The students created a list comparing and contrasting real-life bears and fictional bears like Corduroy. The class also created beautiful bear dens out of paper bags and glitter.
- We learned a bit about Martin Luther King. We had some great discussions about how much he cared about people being kind and fair to each other. We saw pictures of all the people in Washington who came to see an important speech he made. The children were able to make the significant connection between the teachings of Martin Luther King and the Golden Rule which we talk about quite a lot in Kindergarten!
