NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We had another great week at MHS. Again, both MHS and PES staff have been so patient and kind. Our teachers have been plugging away at end-of-year assessments. Second-grade students had a field trip to the Maine Maritime Museum this week. I hear they made terrific lobstermen and women. The fifth-grade students had a marvelous kayak trip to Malaga Island. Thank you to Mrs. Snell and Ms. McCauley for arranging this enriching experience. A shout out also goes to the RSU1 maintenance department and Morse PE department for loaning and transporting the kayaks. And, of course, to the staff and parent volunteers who chaperoned. By all accounts, this will now be an annual trip.
Thank you again, for your flexibility and understanding, as we work our way through the situation at PES. We will certainly keep you posted with any updates.
LIBRARY NEWS
ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE BACK NOW
The summer reading lists have been compiled; visit LINK. The summer reading bingo game is a fun way to participate in reading during the summer and earn a $5.00 coupon for the Scholastic Book Fair (which will be September 4th through the 8th). Bingo sheets will go home with students at the end of the year. I hope you have a great and safe summer.
YEARBOOKS GO HOME JUNE 15
Yearbooks have arrived, and they look great! Thank you, Chelsea Antoinette, for all your hard work. We will hold them here so students can have their friends sign them on Thursday and Friday. We ordered two extra copies, $20 each, first come, first served. Contact Mrs. Doran at tdoran@rsu1.org, if you wish to purchase one. Checks are to be made out to Phippsburg Elementary School.
