H is for Halloween
H week
We also used this Red Ribbon week, to talk about healthy choices and Pre-K watch a video about the heart. Did you know our heart beats about 100,000 times a day and is about the size of our fist? We talked about how to keep our heart healthy and happy by eating healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, and exercising for at least 30 minutes everyday. We talked about what healthy choices we can make daily to keep our bodies healthy and happy. For letter Hh week, we had delicious healthy snacks, which included fruit and pretzels with honey.
Because of the generosity of the Brunsman family, each class got a chance to put on their scientist hats. We investigated and made predictions about what would happen, if we placed crayon pieces onto our pumpkins and applied heat.
We worked with our number of the week, glueing 7 crayons to our pumpkins. Then we got to work, using heat from a blow dryer to melt our crayons, watching as the colors mixed together to create beautiful pieces of art.
Thank you!
Also, thank you to Lisa King, who came to be a guest reader for our Early Learner class on Tuesday. Thank you for sharing your time with us!
Marcus Cook is a Star Student!
I loved how wonderfully it worked out for letter Hh week, that Marcus's favorite animal is a Hippo. How much fun we had working that! We also learned that Marcus is a part of the Cook family and that there are 3 boys in his family. Marcus is in the middle!
On Friday, Marcus brought in his All About Me bag and we got to see the medal he earned in baseball. Way to go Marcus!!

H is for Halloween!
Each class will have a chance to show off their costumes at the Big School with a parade through the classrooms. We will get a chance to see our buddies and wave with pride to our big brothers and sisters as we march around the school.
We will also do fun Halloween crafts and games this week. We will practice our Trick-or-Treat etiquette and gratitude, throughout the week, as we prepare for the big day.
Early Learners will have their party on Tuesday, October 30.
Pre-K will have their party on Wednesday, October 31.
PLEASE SEND STUDENTS TO SCHOOL IN THEIR COSTUMES with regular clothes underneath. ALSO PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILDREN IN GOOD WALKING SHOES. The parade can be quite difficult in glass slippers or clown shoes.
As we finish up the week we will do so some spooky Halloween science.
