The Lincoln Lightning
"Your SPARK of information!"
December 17th, 2021
Dear Lincoln Families:
I hope this message finds you and your family well as we near the end of December and prepare for our winter break.
Students and staff are working hard each day to reach our learning goals and achieve success in the classroom. A major reason for the success here at Lincoln is the safe and secure learning environment students and staff enjoy every day.
To help maintain that positive learning environment, students and staff took part in a practice evacuation drill this past week (we evacuated the building as we do in a fire drill and we did not leave the campus). We take the time to practice these drills because we want them to be as comfortable and routine for our students and staff as possible.
The students did an excellent job at following teacher directions throughout the drill. We worked on lining up quietly, exiting the building, and following the teachers’ directions.
With recent events, it's essential that we are vigilant and do all that we can to create a safe, supportive and caring learning environment. Our children's physical and mental well-being are always my top priorities.
I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and hope that you may experience kindness and joy in all that you do. As always, please feel free to contact me at any time. Together we will continue to make Lincoln Elementary an amazing place to learn and grow. As I've said many times before, this truly is the best school in the UNIVERSE!
In Partnership,
Michelle Miner, Ed.D
Principal, Lincoln Elementary

Volunteers/Visitors
In an effort to make Lincoln the safest possible environment for our children, we ask that all visitors and volunteers please sign in at the office (Driver’s License required) and always wear a nametag identifying yourself as a visitor, including volunteering on our playground and our outdoor classroom. All staff members have been directed to ask adults not wearing proper identification to return to the office. We know you agree that safety must be our number one concern.
Also, we request that all volunteers and chaperones complete a background check verification form. We no longer use paper applications. In compliance with board policies, our district began this procedure a few years ago. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but this practice ensures the safest environment for our children. The completed background checks are valid for three years.
