This Week in Technology - Hour of Code

During Computer class this week Grades 1-10 have been participating in the Hour of Code, which is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. They participate in One-hour tutorials. Some of you may remember that students participated in the Hour of Code last year, and they really enjoyed the exposure to coding.

On Friday last week we started this year’s version of Star Wars where students program droids to create their own Star Wars game. We will continue through the week with Minecraft and Frozen. Students are learning the building blocks of Coding with JavaScript. They are also enhancing their math and problem solving skills. At the end of the program students will be receiving a Certificate of Completion.
