Cyclone Central Remote Edition
May 8, 2020
A Message From Mrs. Rateno
Cyclone Family,
On behalf of the entire Center Elementary School Staff, I would like to say thank you to all of the families and community members who have reached out to show your appreciation this week! The student-created morning announcements, CSA thank you video, thoughtful Tweets, and virtual notes that we have received definitely put a smile on many faces. We are truly blessed to be a part of such a supportive community and feel #luckytobeacyclone every day!
Yesterday, information was emailed out about some end of the year events for our school. This information has also been included below in our newsletter for easy access. Although we know these are not the plans we expected for May, we thank all who have been part of the collaboration and planning to make these events possible. We look forward to seeing our students one last time during these farewell parades to celebrate all they have accomplished this year! If you have any questions about our May plans, or if we can support your family in any way as we wrap up this remote learning adventure, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Lastly, I would like to wish a very Happy Mother's day to all of our mothers, grandmothers, and mother-figures out there! We feel your love every day and thank you for all that you do to take care of your little cyclones!
With much gratitude and well wishes for all of you,
Kate Rateno

HELPING HANDS
Cleveland Food Bank
In need of food? Contact Our Help Center at 216.738.2067
In 2012, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank launched a new benefits outreach initiative unique among food banks across the nation.
Our Help Center - dedicated to connecting food insecure individuals with the assistance they need – allows callers and walk-in clients the opportunity to complete an application for several government assistance programs. Clients can apply for SNAP (formerly food stamps) and more than 20 other programs with one of our benefits counselors. Calls are free and confidential.
In the Food Bank service area, one in six people are food insecure. For children, those numbers are more dismal. More than one in five children in our service area is at risk of hunger.
We understand that people need a helping hand during hard times. Many turn to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for help! We serve clients from Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Richland and Ashland Counties and we can connect those in need to partner agencies, hot meals and mobile pantries that are nearby. In addition, we can help you submit a SNAP application by phone!
Call us today at 216.738.2067 or toll-free at 855.738.2067.
