Think Spring!
STRIVErs in both middle school and high school have made it through the busy winter months. As you'll see below, many have been honored for their hard work and dedication to many projects.
Spring will bring along with it new projects including Science Olympiad for the high school students and creative robot projects for the middle school students.
Mock Trial a Success
The FC Mock Trial Team, a super young team with six new members, showed their stuff at the PA Bar Association District Competition on Feb. 7th. The team defeated Connellsville and Charleroi to secure their spot in the playoffs on Feb. 19th. The team made a great showing in the playoffs and came in 3rd place just behind Trinity and Peters Twp. Team members are Senior - Brent Spinden, Junior - Lauren Ragland, and Sophomores - Evan Alrutz, Sam Bedillion, Destinee Davis, Isabel Descutner, Brittany Makrush and Matthew McDonald. Coaches Mrs.Newman and attorney Mr. Bill Miller are very proud of the team's accomplishments!
High Scorer
Congratulations to Sam Bedillion, 10th grade, for securing his spot for the second year in a row as the top scoring member of the JV Academic League Team. Way to go Sam!!
Cash Winner
Nick Borovich, 8th grade, spent a lot of time during the past two months teaching himself the ins and outs of Microsoft Photoshop in his quest to develop the winning logo for the 2014 Middle School Computer Fair. Congratulations to Nick for placing second at the competition, sponsored by the Intermediate Unit #1. His award was a $15 check which the competition coordinator cashed on the spot!
Scholastic Achievements
Emily's Gold Key designation has qualified her digital film to move on to be judged at the national level! In New York City, panels of nationally renowned artists, art professionals, and arts educators review Gold Key works from across the country.
