Happy Mother's Day QVE

It's so appropriate that Teacher Appreciation Week is the same week as Mother's Day! You guys do such an amazing job being there for your students, not only as a teacher, but as a counselor, social worker, doctor, and yes- a mother (father)!

I hope you enjoyed this special day with all the mother's in your life who have helped to shape you into the magnificent people that you are today. It's not only a day that we celebrate Mother's, but life, and all the gifts our mothers, children, aunts, grandmothers, teachers, friends others have contributed to the world.

YOU are truly a gift and we are so blessed to have you share them with the students, staff, and families of QVE!

Happy Mother's Day!

STAAR Testing Tomorrow!

Rest up- STAAR Testing is tomorrow! I sent out a reminder to parents this evening and gave them a few tips that will ensure students are STAAR READY!

Here's the message:

Eagle Families,

First, we want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day! This is not only a day we celebrate motherhood, but the beautiful gift of life and our amazing contributions to the world! Thanks for sharing your precious gifts with us!

Tomorrow is STAAR Testing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades. Please make sure students take the following steps in an effort to be ready to ROCK the STAAR tomorrow:

1. Make sure your child(ren) get to bed at a good time. We know you're celebrating today, so make sure you get home in time for students to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

2. Get up early enough to get a good, nutritious breakfast in the morning. Students will have fours hours to take the test, our wonderful PTO has provided a snack and water- but a good breakfast will ensure students have the endurance to stay focused and engaged.

3. Dress your child in comfortable clothing - maybe send a light jacket or sweater in case s/he gets cold.

4. As stated above, our wonderful PTO have provided gold fish crackers, fruit snacks, and bottled water for students that are testing. If for some reason, your child cannot consume these snacks, you may send a special "healthy" snack.

5. Share encouraging words or share an inspirational quote with students in the morning. Many times how we feel and our confidence has a great deal to do with our performance.

Here are a few:

If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards. Paul Bryant

Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish. Brad Henry

If you believe in yourself anything is possible. Miley Cyrus

You can have all the tools in the world but if you don't genuinely believe in yourself, it's useless. Ken Jeong

We appreciate your partnership!
