Our school has undertaken environmental actions, campaigns, and projects to earn points toward a Gold EcoSchools Certification. We are currently awaiting EcoSchools Canada to assess our application. In the meantime, please see our Plan Progress for points earned. Go, Storm, Go!

National Sweater Day ~ February 2nd
Brrr! Mrs. Fattore and her class organized our National Sweater Day. Thanks so much for raising awareness about climate change and energy conservation. Together, we can be part of the solution!
EcoSource Waste Workshops ~ February 3rd
The Region of Peel’s Waste Workshops, delivered by Ecosource, engage students in contemporary waste issues and foster critical thinking through interactive learning and exploration. These curriculum-connected workshops are offered to individual classes (Grades 2- 8) across the Region of Peel. The program, led by qualified and knowledgeable educators, aims to inspire change in waste reduction practices and study in each classroom by creating awareness amongst students, teachers, and administrators (EcoSource, 2023). Topics ranged from Waste Warriors (Grade 2) to Rethink Wants, Reduce Waste (Grade 8). Thank you to EcoSource educators, Yanique, Oriona, and Marie, for these inspiring and interactive workshops!
Waste-Free Lunch Campaign ~ February 7th and 8th
Mrs. Belmonte and her students held a waste-free lunch challenge. They prepared posters, announcements, and conducted some data collection and analysis . The results of their audit showed a reduction in classroom waste. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you very much to Mrs. Belmonte and her class for leading the school in this campaign!🙏
Focus On Nature ~ March 8th
Our EcoRangers and Mr. Abraham participated in an in-school workshop conducted by Focus On Nature on March 8th. Focus On Nature is a registered charity in Southern Ontario inspiring young people to explore and connect with nature through photography. Thank you very much, Olivea (Focus On Nature instructor), for showing us how to connect with nature through photography!
