Stop development of Nuclear Weapons

Before nuclear fallout

Introduction

Definition-A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission (fission bomb) or a combination of fission and fusion.

You are probably saying nuclear weapons aren't affecting us no more but it really is so this flyer going to tell you how. Nuclear weapons are still bad from radiation and global warming, but they have established companies and systems like the IAEA and the international safeguard system to help stop nuclear weapons from being built and causing any more damage.

How nuclear weapons are bad

No effective humanitarian response would be possible, and the effects of radiation on human beings would cause suffering and death many years after the initial explosion.Radiation-induced cancers will affect many, often over twenty years later. Certain cancers such as thyroid cancer in children are particularly associated with exposure to radiation. The children of those exposed to radiation are statistically more likely to be born with abnormalities and suffer from leukaemia. Also the the environment would be damaged by radiation for a long period of time

Quote from the International Committee of the Red Cross, 2010

“Nuclear weapons are unique in their destructive power, in the unspeakable human suffering they cause, in the impossibility of controlling their effects in space and time, and in the threat they pose to the environment, to future generations, and indeed to the survival of humanity.”

Attempted solutions and proposal for a solution

In my opinion with the international safeguard system it is helping us prevent the fissile materials not be in weapons . Also IAEA undertakes regular inspections of nuclear facilities and audits the nuclear material through them so as long as this is still happening we should be fine from nuclear weapons.

Conclusion

Even though we haven't been through nuclear warfare lately it is still warming the earth and many places still has a lot of radiation

However, it doesn’t have to continue.

This could be solved by the international safeguards system and the IAEA
