Gallery Walk - Trimester 1
Can you believe it, the trimester is coming to an end on Wednesday, November 9th. We have scheduled our trimester 1 Gallery Walk for Wednesday, November 16th. Parents and families are welcome to come stroll through the Gallery Walk from 3-4 p.m. on that day.
A few years ago, North Side decided that we wanted to honor all students at the end of each trimester. Every student has talents and great accomplishments to celebrate. Some may be proud of an art project, others might be into music or sports or wish to share a hobby. And of course, some will be excited to share a school assignment.
For our first trimester Gallery Walk this school year, we have decided to guide the students with accomplishments from the school setting. For trimester 2, we will encourage students to branch out and share other talents if they wish. For this first trimester, please do not send anything in from home.
We look forward to sharing our students many talents and accomplishments with you on November 16th.
Help your child to have a GROWTH mindset for learning.

Attendance –
Attendance is an important part of your child’s education. Being present at school each day and on time helps them achieve their full potential. As a school district, we keep parents aware of absences. Some have received letters, and some have received phone calls. Our policy was given out at the beginning of the year to the procedures we follow. We take into consideration the doctor’s notes and try not to send letters if we have those on file. We understand that a doctor will not always be needed. Communication with the office is the best step to take so we can all work together. We all want the best for your child.
Safety –
In October, we all participated in a relocation drill. This is necessary for our staff and students to know what to do in the event we are displaced from our building for some reason. Our staff and students did an amazing job of following our procedures. We also participated in another fire and earthquake drill. During the month of November, we will be practicing in the following drills:
- Fire drill
- Tornado drill
- Lockdown drill
As you can tell by looking at the list, safety is an important part of preparing our students and staff in case of an emergency. Talking to your students about safety will help them be prepared for an actual emergency. Stress to them not to panic and react to each situation with confidence and calmness.
If you should have any questions regarding attendance or safety, please contact me at the school or by email at jperlich@eastnoble.net. I am looking forward to a great year!
The Nurses Nook
Hello North Side Wildcat Families!! I hope these chillier days are finding you plenty warm. As the days are becoming cooler and cooler, please remember to make sure your child is wearing a coat to school. If your child does not have a coat and you need assistance getting one, please reach out!!! I have resources and would love to assist you in making sure your child stays warm this winter.
- Side note – be sure to write your child’s name in their coat, hat and gloves. These items are misplaced often. This helps us to make sure we can locate the owners of lost coats and gloves 😊
Daylight savings time occurs in November. The change in time is always hard on all of us. Make sure your kiddos are getting plenty of rest, especially around this time. It’s hard for them to learn when their little bodies are tired. Studies report that children should get 9 to 10 hours of sleep every night.
Friendly reminders:
- Your child must be fever-free, without fever-reducing medication, for 24 hours before returning to school. The same applies to vomiting and diarrhea.
- Please send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack for those occasional accidents or spills. I will do my best to provide your child with a change of clothes, but if I do not have the appropriate size, I will have to call home and ask for a change of clothes.
If your child has clothes that they have outgrown, I am always accepting clothing donations!! This is how I keep my “extra clothes” stocked. I am always in need of pants and underwear, sizes 6-12. Don’t worry, clothes are always washed before I give them to students
