The neighborhood

We live on Russell St, between Driggs and Nassau facing McGolrick Park. I think you'll agree it's one of the most beautiful parks in Brooklyn. The address is Russell St, between Nassau & Driggs, 11222.

This is the actual building in the photo on right.

Here's the immediate neighborhood amenities:

  • Your front yard is McGolrick Park (sprinklers, trees, 1910 Shelter Pavilion)
  • Met Supermaket (half block away)
  • Young Fruit (half block away), cheaper veg/fruit
  • Two great bakeries (Syrena + Northside) for bread & misc artery cloggers. (half block)
  • Laundromat 1.5 blocks away (no laundry in the building)
  • Solid bar that plays heavy metal music and Monday night football (half block away)
  • Various Polish delis, 1 Catholic church, 1 Lutheran Church, 1 synagogue, 1 mosque
  • Expensive coffee shops, Indonesian restaurant, Japanese restaurant, 99 cent store, Van leeuwen ice cream factory, pet store. I can go on and on.

  • Train: Nearest stop is the G @ Nassau (about 8 minute walk), or L @ Bedford (18 minute walk).
  • Bike: There are rumors of a Citibike dock coming to the park.
  • Plane: 15 min ride to LaGuardia airport via BQE.
  • Automobile: Decent on-street parking (Twice weekly street cleaning). Zipcars are 10min walk.
