- Don't wait until a couple of days before, as some require an adequate amount of time
- ALL students grades 2-12 will be taking the iReady assessment in math & reading
- Diagnostic reports will be shared with parents
- Teachers use student data to drive instruction, form flexible groupings, provide resources to students and provide parents with skills for students to work on
- Fall scores will be used as a benchmark. For the winter and spring assessments we will look for and increase in student growth.
What to expect if your child is not demonstrating proficiency at their grade level?
- A conversation with their teacher
- required class attendance for specific skills
- additional time spent on skills that need to be mastered through a variety of resources- assigned practice on iReady, math or reading apps
- Middle/High School- a discussion about what courses they are enrolled in, is a switch in courses needed? Is what we are doing working? What additional support and resources can we utilize to ensure student achievement?
The educational partnership between parents, teachers and students is essential to student success. Through working together, we can achieve great things. We have YOUR child's best interests in mind to help them be successful learners.

HYBRID Course Key Information (MS/HS)
- The content area teacher is responsible for awarding credit for this course at the end of the year. This teacher needs to have data and evidence that students have demonstrated proficiency in the standards to be awarded this credit.
- Curriculum that was approved can be used. As with ANY curriculum (even in public, brick and mortar schools), teachers will find that they do not address ALL of that standards that need to be met. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement the curriculum with other resources. In working with your child's teacher, together you can determine which standards need to be addressed that are not covered.
- Documentation of learning and student progress needs to be maintained and shared with their teacher through project trackers.
- Examples of student work or assessments may need to be shared with the teacher to assess standards
- ONE project (that is in alignment with project-based learning) will be required in Social Studies in order to meet the inquiry-Based standards. These students will be invited to the Seminar course taught by Mr. Soderbloom for basic instruction. These projects are extremely flexible. We would like for your child to connect this to something that they are learning and already working on at home. These are open to a great deal of student choice, while being aligned with the inquiry standards. Your child's teacher will support and help you with this!
- These courses are designed with the understanding that there is a HIGH LEVEL OF PARENT SUPPORT AT HOME AND KNOWLEDGE OF PARENT IN THIS CONTENT AREA. If at any point, your child is not demonstrating overall success in this course, we may consider different options.
- As a public school in the state of Wisconsin, we are held to the guidelines set forth by the Department of Public Instruction

To be informed regarding the new state social studies standards, please read below, as well as click below to read the detailed document.

2. Gather and evaluate sources.
3. Develop claims using evidence to support reasoning.
4. Communicate and critique conclusions.
5. Be civically engaged.
