In-Person Students/ Absences

Our ultimate goal was to provide two different settings for our students this year: either in-person or remote. This allowed for the teacher to manage one setting at a time.

Over the course of the last few weeks, we have experienced students needing to quarantine for 10-14 days due to COVID-related symptoms. Not being exposed to the instruction for this many days can and will have a negative impact on the child's learning.

Therefore, our teachers will be Zooming in any students that are quarantined due to COVID related issues. This will begin on Wednesday, October 14. Between now and then, this will allow us time to get materials ready for the teachers to manage both in-person students and remote students at the same time.

Zooming in a blended classroom will not be the exact same experience as their in-person peers, but it will allow for them to get exposure to the core lessons that are being taught. SeeSaw and Schoology will still be accessible to those students while they are out.

Please note that this is only for students that are in quarantine due to COVID-related circumstances.

Safety Procedures

With our most recent positive case of COVID in the building, we want to remind our families of our safety procedures we have put into place this year. Because of these practices, we have been able to limit the exposure of possible COVID related symptoms. For example, with our 6ft distancing in our classrooms and buses and the use of our mask-wearing, we were able to limit the exposure to just a handful of students with this week's positive case.

Below is the video that Mrs. Gedville and I made about our practices. One quick update on these procedures: If a child is sent home with symptoms and a negative COVID test is presented, the child can return to school immediately.

Schoology Codes for 3rd-5th

Parents will soon receive codes to access Schoology. Once you gain access, you will be able to check in on your student's grades and assignments.

Below is a link with information on how to navigate Schoology once you are logged in.
