Provo CAPS Fall Showcase 2022

Science RISE Assessment Cluster Writing

For: 6-8 Science Teachers

The Secondary Science Assessment Specialist from the Utah State Board of Education is announcing the first cluster writing workshop for 2023. They are going to write 24 clusters to help fill gaps in our middle school cluster bank. Learn more on the employee website.

UVU Roots of Knowledge Grant Funded K-6 Field Trip

For: All Teachers

“Finding Home” includes an interactive tour of Roots of Knowledge (storytelling, poetry, mindfulness exercises, games, etc) followed by an art making activity. The field trip program is rooted in Utah State Core Curriculum Standards and can currently accommodate up to 70 students at a time. We’ve been given a grant by the Larry H. Miller Foundation, so groups who come to participate in our pilot program will be reimbursed for all bus fees. Learn more on the employee website.

USBE School Leadership Community of Practice

East Bay Post High Request

Hello from East Bay Post High. We are a post-secondary school for students with severe disabilities. We want to assemble “Keep Me Warm” kits and “Bags of Toilet Paper” to donate to Tabitha’s Way Local Food Pantry. To reach this goal we need your help in gathering the materials. Secondary Math–Nearpod Collaboration

For: Secondary Math Teachers

STEM: Endorsement Incentive Program

Are you pursuing a STEM, Math or Ed Tech endorsement? Did you know you can be reimbursed for tuition and course materials? The Utah Legislature has allocated funding to the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to use to incentivize educators across the state to achieve endorsements in the STEM subjects. Ultimate Robots Challenge

For: 4-7 Grade Teachers

The Ultimate Robot Competition challenges teams of students to create a robot from an Ultimate Robot Kit. Students are not meant to follow the plans exactly, but instead must modify (engineer) what they have to accomplish a task. Visit the employee website to learn more and sign up.
