Keeping YOU in the know!!
ACCESS: January 12 - February 13, 2015
- The ACCESS assessment window opens January 12, 2014 and closes February 13, 2014. You may NOT administer any portion of ACCESS before or after the assessment window.
- Sign the non-disclosure if you haven't already done so this year.

- Order Additional ACCESS Materials for the newly identified ELs.
- When will I receive my materials? We will send them directly to your school when they arrive at the district warehouse. They will be waiting for your when you return from break!
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Do we assess our Y1 and Y2 students? NO - these students do not take ACCESS.
- I received a new student - what do I need to do? After administering the W-APT and a student has been identified as an English Learner, contact Bradley Bowers for the bubbling information you need. DO NOT guess as there are many codes that need to come directly from him.
- May an EA assist with the administration of ACCESS? Yes, an EA may administer the group tests after completing the online training and signing the ACCESS nondisclosure agreement.
- What do I need to do to process my students' ACCESS tests? Follow the directions posted on the ACCESS Organizational Google Site.
Please do not hesitate to contact Remy or your ELD Lead if you have further questions.

Wishing you a WONDERFUL break!!
In Educational Programming, we have been talking about the following quote by blogger, Shauna Niequist - and we have posted it all around us. This resonated for all of us (Robin Carey, Natasha Straayer, Kathy Tirrill, Christina Levesque, and I):
“I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud. And I don't want to get to the end, or to tomorrow, even, and realize that my life is a collection of meetings and pop cans and errands and receipts and dirty dishes. I want to eat cold tangerines and sing out loud in the car with the windows open and wear pink shoes and stay up all night laughing and paint my walls the exact color of the sky right now. I want to sleep hard on clean white sheets and throw parties and eat ripe tomatoes and read books so good they make me jump up and down, and I want my everyday to make God belly laugh, glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift.”
Take some time for laughter, read a great book, and have a wonderful break!!
