Principal's Message
Dear Fammatre Families,
At Fammatre we have a long-standing tradition of working together to help others. This year Fammatre's Holiday Food Drive, like everything else, looks different. Local food banks are only accepting monetary donations instead of food items.
Our amazing HSC has made it easy for us to donate electronically to this incredibly important cause. Online contributions to Fammatre's Holiday Food Drive are being accepted now through December 20th. If you are able to donate, here is the link: https://teamfeed.feedingamerica.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=1647
We set a school-wide goal to raise $500 for this year. If we meet our goal I will be dressing up for the Friday Assembly on December 18th, as a Disney Character! I wonder if students can guess which character I will choose? Additionally, the classroom(s) with the most class participants will receive a special surprise from our HSC. Please be sure to include your child's teacher's name on your donation. A Fammatre family has generously offered to match $1.00 for $1.00 on the food drive amount to help Fammatre reach our goal.
We know that food insecurity is more prevalent today in our community and there are resources available to help. If your family is in need of assistance, please feel free to reach out to me or our home and school club president, Denise Fulton at president.fhsc@gmail.com. All requests are kept confidential.

On Going Events & Information
CEF Read-A-Thon Bingo
- Students can fill out by getting 5 in a row or filling the entire card.
- Once you have filled in 5 in a row or the entire card, you may turn in your Read-A-Thon Bingo Cards. You may scan and email them to Mrs. Perry (perryc@cambriansd.com) who will print them out. Or we have a table with an envelope outside the front office door in the breezeway where you can drop off your paper copies when completed.
- Students who complete and turn in the card will have their names added to a drawing for a prize.
- CEF will pickup cards weekly beginning in December. The last day to turn in bingo cards will be Friday, January 8th. (This is one week before the read-a-thon ends.).
Keep up the great daily reading!
Fammatre Giving Campaign
Donations to the Giving Campaign are still coming in and we are still receving a few more contributions from our Fammatre Families each week. Employer matches are being processed and have given us a huge bump to get us to 50% of our goal! If your employer offers a matching program, it is a wonderful way to supplement family contributions. In 2019/20 we gained over $38,000 from Employer Matching programs. Please see our Q&A and Corporate Matching and Donation form for more details.
If you have any questions about the Giving Campaign, please contact me at sjfamily4D@gmail.com. Thank you for your support of Fammatre and all our Fammatre Falcons!

Support Cambrian Students
YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT CAMBRIAN STUDENTS AND ENDORSE CAMBRIAN LAND DEVELOPMENT
The Cambrian School District has been in the process of assessing potential land redevelopment of District-owned properties as a new ongoing revenue stream to support our students, programs, and District. After evaluating multiple options, we identified the Metzler Elementary School at Cambrianna Drive as a promising opportunity to convert a portion of this site into an ongoing revenue stream. The proposed development matches and complements the character of the neighborhood.
The proposed housing development project for the Cambrian School district will generate ongoing revenue that will support CSD’s outstanding programs.
Please join Cambrian parents, teachers, and neighbors and click here to sign a letter of support asking the City of San Jose to approve the District’s general plan amendment application.
For more information about the Cambrian School District’s “Support Our Students” land development initiative, please check out our webpage or contact former Cambrian School District parent Eve Walton at SOSCambrianSchoolDistrict@gmail.com. Stay informed on the Initiative, please sign up for our mailing list by clicking here.
Free School Meal Services
Cambrian continues to offer free breakfast and lunch at Price Middle. Meals are available for pickup at Price Middle School, Monday through Friday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Daily service provides lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day. Friday meal services also provide breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday and breakfast for Monday or during holiday breaks. These are free to every child aged 18 and younger. You do not need to show any ID and children do not need to be present to receive meals. Applications to apply for subsidized meal programs are available online at https://family.titank12.com.
These applications not only provide access to much-needed benefits for our families; they also serve as a data point used to generate additional revenues we rely on as a District. For this reason, we encourage all of our families to complete the application process even if they may not elect to participate in the meal program. This will ensure we are maximizing our revenue opportunities which will allow us to continue offering excellent educational programs that make us Cambrian. We look forward to continuing to serve our students and provide an important home to school link for our students.
