BEAU CHENE HIGH SCHOOL
Victoria Hidgon, BCHS student, placed 4th at the FFA District Public Speaking Contest on December 4, 2018.
“BCHS Beta Club collected toys for the CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline, Inc.’s Annual Christmas Toy Drive for the 2nd year in a row. The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) organization represents the foster youth of St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes. Students collected donations to provide Christmas gifts for over 50 children remaining in foster care this holiday season.”
BCHS Advanced Nutrition and Foods class made Fondant Christmas Cakes and participated in a Cake Wars competition. The votes are counted and here are the winners! 1st Place-Bailie S., 2nd Place-Alyssa L., 3rd Place-Hannah Q., 4th Place-Kieaira M., and

LAWTELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Kindergarten and 1st-grade classes at Lawtell Elementary’s Just One Word, Inc. 21st CCLC after-school program created and painted Christmas trees for their Holiday Activity.
LAWTELL ELEMENTARY Jr. Beta Club attended their District Convention on December 8th. They won 2nd place in Apparel Design (t-shirt) and 3rd place in Marketing & Communications! They will be competing in State Competitions in February. Go Trojans!

Sunset Middle School celebrates their School Performance Progress Index - 80.2/B. The students decorated the campus with bright colored posters. They are excited and working hard to increase this year’s Leap test scores.

St. Landry Parish District Science Fair
Mrs. Willis leads her Algebra I students in a midterm review circle. Students were in charge of the review by selecting problems from their own previous work that they had struggled with, still had questions about, or found were interesting or challenging. Students worked collaboratively on the peer-selected problems.
